iPhone Shortcuts Workflow Tip

iphone-shortcuts-hashtag

If you dabble in iPhoneography, then you are likely, and often, faced with having to type certain phrases a lot.  Possibly some hashtags.  Here is a quick tip to save yourself some time.

Enable Keyboard Shortcuts

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Go to General
  3. Go to Keyboard
  4. Turn Shortcuts ON

Now you will have the ability to add keyboard shortcuts to your iPhone.  So why use them? Well, if you participate in a daily event, (e.g., #SelfPortraitFriday) then you can add the hashtag to your shortcut as to not type it all out each time.  Or if you add your website as a signature or watermarks in your iPhoneography, then you don’t have to type that out each time.  So take the time and create your shortcuts now so you save time in the future.

  1. Great tip! Helped a currently newbie iOS user like me!

  2. It’s a great tip! I use (and love) text expander, but unfortunately only a limited number of apps support it.. And it’s doubtful Apple ever will for the native apps. I haven’t explored Apple’s own text expansion yet, but I need to. Thanks, Scott!

    1. Glad you liked the tip David!
