My first HDR I processed from yesterday’s Photographer Meetup at Eastern State Penitentiary.  I had a great time, met and chatted with really nice people.  After a lot of talking on Twitter and Facebook, I finally met CJ, Comcast Steve, D. Travis and many other great people.  There is a set of brackets I will be working on to show why HDR can be a very useful technique. The final HDR photo will be posted at some point this week.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,

Scott

  1. Thanks Scott. There is tons of grunge in the prison. I often do bring out more contrast but many times with HDR you need to bring it down to keep it looking real.

  2. Nice use of HDR – not too crazy over-the-top. I keep following up on the photos that the crew has been posting, and I keep saying to myself "I didn't see that". This is one of those shots…I didn't see any of these buttons. Guess I was looking up too much. Needless to say, I'll be going back. Can't believe I'd never been. Thanks again for organizing.

  3. I am soooo amazed you got to go there with these guys. I want to go there so bad. awesome! This looks like an interesting subject – With a place like this, I’d want to enhance the rust and grunge. Did you consider adding in more contrast?
