When my cousins asked if I could photograph their maternity photos I was delighted to do so.
I asked them to find photographs that they like so I can put my own spin on them.
For this photograph, I positioned her near the edge of the background, stood up on a tall bar height chair and with a small aperture photographed the bow as the focal point.
That small aperture is what made the depth of field so nice and blurry.
For lighting I used one Alien Bee bouncing off of an umbrella.
At first I was concerned about the shadows, but I actually think that the shadows add more life to the stillness.
