Maternity Tied In A Bow

maternity-bow

When my cousins asked if I could photograph their maternity photos I was delighted to do so.

I asked them to find photographs that they like so I can put my own spin on them.

For this photograph, I positioned her near the edge of the background, stood up on a tall bar height chair and with a small aperture photographed the bow as the focal point.

That small aperture is what made the depth of field so nice and blurry.

For lighting I used one Alien Bee bouncing off of an umbrella.

At first I was concerned about the shadows, but I actually think that the shadows add more life to the stillness.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,

Scott
