My First Year As An Arcanum Master

Curtis Simmons

I’ve now been mentoring as a Master at The Arcanum for over a year.

It’s been an amazing experience to help my apprentices grow with their photography.

I have also learned a lot about myself through the experience.

The Arcanum was started by 3 guys, Trey Ratcliff, Curtis Simmons and Peter Giordano.  You may know Trey from his website, Stuck in Customs.

In August, Trey and Curtis went on a US tour, photowalking many of the largest cities in the country.  These 2 photo were made during the New York City photowalk, which was also the first day of the tour.

Curtis (pictured above) is the lead architect at The Arcanum, making sure the software is easy to use and driving its growth further.

Trey has been the frontman for The Arcanum since day 1. Everything The Arcanum is today is because of Trey’s creative vision.

Peter (who was not on the tour) is also a backbone of the company. In fact, he is super hard working and constantly pushing for a better experience for masters and apprentices.

One of the best parts of The Arcanum, that I’ve learned to appreciate, is the desire to make it better, and better, and better.

There is no end to where the system can grow to.

But that’s from the business/backend side of things.

I also love that my apprentices get so much value from their membership. They get to interact closely with me, as well as other apprentices and masters.

They get one on one critiques and endless challenges to help their improvement.

If you are interested in joining The Arcanum, head over to the site and submit your profile into the antechamber.

Want me as a master? Include my name in your profile, somewhere. I will search for it as new apprentice spots open up and depending on your profile I will select from those interested in me as a master first.
