Emmett turned one, and never had a taste of cake.
So for his first birthday, his parents gave him the opportunity to try some cake.
And sit on a cake.
This is my favorite photo from Emmett’s cake smash for his first birthday.
This photo was made 100% with natural light, through a large kitchen window.
We opted for not using a white backdrop so the hardwood floor was included. That adds more of a sense of “home” and nostalgia to a portrait.
Emmett was originally dressed as Mickey Mouse, but he wasn’t feeling the bow so much, so he eventually pulled it off.
By the way, the bow was made by Harper’s Bowzaar.
