Photo Critique – A Magazine Style Portrait

Every so often I get requests for photo critiques. Sometimes the critique can be quick, but sometimes I feel it needs more explanation.

In the video below, you will see a photo submitted for critique where I felt it was an awesome photograph. However, I also felt the processing was not the best choice for my taste. The colors were far from what was true, that I had to share what I would have done.

I asked the photographer to send me a JPG of the original photograph. So while I do process the photograph, without precision, please note that with a JPG, it is much harder to process. I always recommend photographing in RAW to have complete control over the photograph during post processing.

If you have any questions about what I did and/or why I did it, please comment and let me know.

Thanks for viewing and happy shooting,
Scott
