Today I am sharing two photographs, both of which we made after Superstorm Sandy hit New Jersey.
This first one is from Port Monmouth, New Jersey. It’s an old fishing pier which is now left with nothing but what you see here.
In a way it’s beautiful.
But it is a constant reminder of the devastation that tore through the state.
Asbury Park, New Jersey has these old shipping containers on the boardwalk. Each of which was converted into a store, or a small restaurant.
This is how Sandy left one of the stores.
One of my favorite places to eat in Asbury Park has been Mogo.
Since Sandy they re-opened their container restaurant and also have a new full store in the downtown area of the Asbury Park.
Not all of Sandy’s destruction is left as it was. So much has been restored.
But I know that those who are from New Jersey will forever remember what happened.
