How to make YouTube video-sharing better as a Teacher

There is a simple, and effective trick with YouTube, to make sharing video content better as a teacher.

You see, normally when you watch a YouTube video, there are 3 things that stand out.

  1. Pre, Mid, and End-Roll Ads
  2. Comments you don’t always need visible
  3. Recommended videos you may not personally recommend

There is no way to remove that normally.

But there is a trick, a tiny modification, that you can do to the URL you are sharing with your students.

This modification will not only remove all 3 of those annoyances but also make the video really large. It will literally take up the entire browser window.

Here is how to do it.

As an example, my video just above has a URL as follows:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jDvcRKE7aU&feature=youtu.be

With the small modification, changing it to:

https://www.yout-ube.com/watch?v=2jDvcRKE7aU&feature=youtu.be

The URL becomes:

https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/2jDvcRKE7aU?autoplay=1&iv_load_policy=3&loop=1&modestbranding=1&playlist=2jDvcRKE7aU

Share that final URL with your students to get rid of the things you do not want them seeing.
