Families are constantly looking for fresh backgrounds to stand out from past photographs they have.
Although many want the same year after year, and that’s ok too.
Luckily there is a beautiful location right near my house which has two old houses.
One has lighter tones with worn out white and grey wood walls. The other is darker with browns and reds.
But what’s really neat about the lighter house is that each side of the house looks different. Not just from the way the sun illuminates the building. But the actual wood used is different, and the paint wearing off is different.
So family portraits at this one location can become four or more individual scenes.
I love using unusual backgrounds and it actually makes the family’s have fun more fun with the photos too.
Fun with dressing for the scene, and fun while actually in the scene.
I’m a fan of unusual backgrounds for family portraits. If you are too, then let’s talk!
