Up Up And Away

up-up-away
I spent some time in Arizona for a wedding and went out shooting up a mountain with some friends.

Having a nephew is so amazing, and soon I will have a niece in my life!

A couple months ago I taught my nephew how to say “Up Up And Away” and then I fly him like Superman (carrying him in my arms of course) around the house.

It makes me laugh every time he wants to be Superman because instead of saying “Up Up And Away” he just says “Away” and then jumps into my arms.

Now every time I see him he wants to fly, so this photograph is a tribute to my nephew, Holden.

I spent some time in Arizona for a wedding and went out shooting up a mountain with some friends.

This was taken in Arizona while sightseeing with some friends.  The Superstition Mountains are full of power lines and tourists, so it was hard to capture a clean photograph without any.  When faced with situations like that, make the best of it and use the distractions as part of the scene.

Show with the Nikon D800 and 24-70mm lens at 70mm, f/8 1/250.

As you can see, I used the tourist route/path as a main part of the framing.

Stop using photography techniques you’re told are the best & photograph what & how you feel in your gut and heart.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,

Scott
