Shutter Priority Mode – Knowing When To Let Your Camera Think With You

Sometimes shutter priority mode is necessary when making photographs. I recently photographed two wrestling matches and it was two firsts for me. The first time I watched a wrestling match and the first time I photographed one. The experience was great, but I had to sacrifice some control over my camera in order to get great photographs. By putting my camera in shutter priority mode I was able to focus more on the composition, timing of things and ensuring the stills were in focus. I then let the camera choose the aperture and ISO. Knowing when to let your camera think with you is extremely important. Don’t ever let someone tell you shutter or aperture priority are not good to do.
