I had the pleasure of reviewing a vest from SCOTTeVEST, called Q.U.E.S.T.
It’s a fantastic vest with 42 pockets, including some large and some small.
The vest is perfect for photographers needing a vest and not wanting to carry a bag with them.
One of the coolest parts of the vest is that even with the pockets full of camera equipment like lenses and cables and batteries, it’s not obvious that there are many pockets full of stuff.
I have been using the vest for some time now, but it was hard to use for the entire summer because of the intense heat and humidity we had in New Jersey.
I only have 2 complaints about the vest. One of which is the hood and how hot it gets when rolled up around your neck. During colder weather, that would not be an issue for me, but during the summer it’s quite annoying.
The other is the fabric around the zipper. Instead of using water resistant zippers (like what Think Tank Photo does on many of their bags, they put fabric in front of the zippers. That makes the design very stylish, but it also makes the zipper catch on fabric very often.
I noticed that with my older SCOTTeVEST vests and jackets (now discontinued), so I wish they would look into a different zipper design for the future.
But then again, it’s not the end of the world as you can still undo a caught zipper.
Here’s a video showing the vest, and me unpacking it from one of my outings (to the NJ Balloon Fest).
