Facebook is a funny beast and if you want to reach your audience at the best possible time, there are two ways to go about it. In this video, we’re going to talk about reaching your target market on facebook. Hey, this is Scott Wyden Kivowitz, a storyteller with a camera talking about all the things photographers like you and I are thinking about in this video. Let’s talk about reach on facebook by utilizing the best time to post. That’s right. We are photographers and we want to reach our target market. Let’s say your target market or Moms, you’re trying to do family portraits, newborn photos, things like that. The best possible time to post is when your target market is on facebook and there are two ways to figure that out. The first is just by using a little bit of common sense and you know, it’s one of those things that everybody can tend to overlook.

The common sense factor of people’s lifestyles. Imagine you’re a parent, you’re a mom, you’re a dad, whatever you are, and and you have a family. You have one child, two children, three children, whatever it is, your children are likely going to bed somewhere between 7:00 and 9:00 at night. Let’s say you are an eastern standard time like myself and you want to reach your target market moms or dads at 7:00 or 9:00 at night and you want to reach your target market on facebook. The ideal thing to do is to use this common sense approach and do it when the children are asleep and not causing a Ruckus in the house. Right? The the quiet time in the house. Maybe the mom or the dad is rocking a child. Maybe they’re just talking to their children in whatever it is, reading them a book. As soon as the quiet time happens, that is when they’re going to pick up their phone and start looking on facebook, so that is when you will want to post on facebook, get it while they’re looking and scrolling through their feed.

Seven PM is the most most popular time in the United States for families to sit down and have dinner, so maybe somebody is on their phone while they’re eating dinner, hopefully not. I’m sure it happens a lot, but also seven to nine is a good range of when the children go to bed, so think about that as the ideal time to reach your target market. Depending on what your target market is, use the common sense approach. Of course, this might also mean that another common sensical approach to this target market of parents would be when the children go to school, so let’s say 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, could be a good time because either the parents are getting their children ready or the children are already left and now they have a little bit of quiet time and they’re looking through their phones. That could also be a good time.

The other way to figure out the best possible time to post for you specifically for your page specifically end the people who like your page is to look at the page facebook insights. What this will do is tell you exactly when people are online on facebook, who like your page. Not only is it going to tell you the actual days that people are on, but it’s going to tell you the actual times, so that means that if your audience is online at 8:00 PM at night and it says that in your facebook insights is that is when they are browsing facebook the most. That’s your ideal time to post, so it really does depend on the page. You can use this common sensical approach, but it may not be the best because maybe your target market doesn’t stick to the common sense timeframe. Maybe they’re on facebook when they’re at work, who knows?

There you have it. Two ways that you can figure out the best possible time to post on facebook for your target market. By the way, this entire video was recorded with Nikon zed.
