First of all, happy Mother’s Day to all the moms reading this right now. The photo above has the appearance of a painting. The way I created it was by photographing the plants using my iPad 2 camera. I then ran the photo through Instagram once, then 100 Cameras in 1 and then Instagram for a second time. I was playing with textures and patterns in the plants but during the processing of the photo, the light started to become more interesting. Mobile photography can be a lot of fun.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,

Scott

    1. It’s a fun app. I have it on my iPad only since I don’t have an iPhone yet, so the camera resolution is not as good as the iPhone. But I have a blast with it.

  1. The only thing keeping me away from using Instagram in this way is the horribly small res it shrinks photos down to. I find myself only using it to share pre-edited photos. I do like some of their effects, I just wish they would save things a bit larger.

Is it different on the ipad? On the iPhone, Instagram shrinks everything down to a tiny 612×612.

    1. It is low resolution on the iPad as well, but for me that is part of the fun. Sometimes low resolution can create odd effects.
