Sticking To The Project But Staying In The Moment

grand-canyon-moment

So you have a project in mind for a trip.  (e.g., lifelike rock formations at the Grand Canyon)

However, there is something to keep in the back of your mind when shooting for your project.

You’re likely somewhere amazing.

Yup.  Think about it.

Here is an example.  When I visited the Grand Canyon, my project was to photograph rocks that had the appearance of animals and people.  I photographed for my project, but at the same time – I was in the Grand Canyon.   So why not photograph in the moment as well?

Don’t get stuck in project mode.  Remember where you are and enjoy it.  Photograph it.

During my upcoming Rhode Island trip, I will be photographing lighthouses and mansions.  But at the same time, I will be photographing in the moment.

Enjoy the moment.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,

Scott
