Keeping The Bridge Secure

Many of the random locks on the Brooklyn Bridge were removed from my last time there.  However, now there are more locks in more obscure places.  Like these… I guess these locks are keeping the Brooklyn Bridge secure.  Right?

    That’s interesting. is it like some sort of local thing to put a lock on the bridge for good luck or something?
