Deep In Thought

This was captured at the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia, South Carolina.

I was using the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 lens which gave me the ability to capture the animal as if it was in the wild.

The depth of field is exactly where I wanted it to be – or what I was visualizing.

Which leads me to my tip: Think before shooting. I know this is a tip that you hear often, but I want to emphasize how important it is to think and visual before you click the shutter. It doesn't matter that with digital photography there is no film to waste. This is about bettering yourself as a photographer.

Look a the elephant… thinking… calm and patient.

Think, visualize, shoot.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,
Scott
