Wishlist: Nikon 28mm f/1.4

Moose Peterson said it right when he wrote about the Nikon 28mm f/1.4 lens.  This lens is sharp edge to edge and besides form the AF/M rotating switch the lens is extremely well built.  The only, I repeat, ONLY problem with this lens is the price.  It’s been a while since Nikon stopped making this lens and it is now selling for over $3000 used.  I am hoping to one day find this at a garage sale!

“Few photographers had a need for ultra fast wide angle, still don’t. I have to admit that while I thought it is a sexy lens it’s a meety sucker the price scared me off as well”. - Moose Peterson

  1. I have always wanted to use a f1.4 lens. I think I would go for one of a slightly longer focal length which would be better for portraits.
