The Shadows Near Brooklyn

While walking around New York City with some friends, I stopped on an empty street near Brooklyn. Behind me was this view that reminded me of an old black and white film.

Now that I have gone through the processing the photograph, and look at it longer it reminds me of something else. For some reason I feel like this is a scene from a black and white Batman or Spiderman movie.

What do you see?

You could tell people this was a photo from 1970’s New York and they would believe you – it reminds me of Midnight Cowboy or Taxi Driver or some gritty crime epic from the era. The lack of cars and obnoxious outdoor advertising gives the photo its timeless quality, in my opinion.
