The First CurrentPhotographer Photo Challenge

I’m honored to share that I am judging the first photo contest on CurrentPhotographer.com. When Trevor asked me to be a judge, I jumped at the opportunity. Trevor is an awesome guy with great knowledge of the photo industry. The other judges include Ana Ramirez and Joseph Cristina.

CurrentPhotographer.com February 2011 Contest

Make the Ordinary Extraordinary

The topic of this challenge is “Make the Ordinary Extraordinary”

Pick a very mundane and ordinary object and photograph it – the challenge being that you have to make it extraordinary, beautiful and interesting. When shooting your ordinary object think about what makes it interesting: Does it tell a story? Can you conceal what it is by zooming in closely? Does your fascination with it say something personal about you? Is it more interesting in monochrome? Will you process it or leave it as shot straight from the camera?
