The Circle Of Life

circle-of-life

Sometimes, as photographers, we have to make a decision to get closer to a subject.  Many times, it is getting closer than we prefer.

This photograph of the dead fish is a perfect example of that point.

The fish smelled horrible.  I mean really gross.

The front of the fish was half eaten and the tail end was all bone.  The birds were pecking at it before my friends and I walked up to it.

However, even with the morbid appearance and the disgusting smell, it was begging to be photographed.  The sandy shore of the river made the perfect backdrop for such a an image.

It doesn’t get more natural than this.

In the end, the photograph is interesting, dark and somehow beautiful.
