The Transformer Building

transforming-building

So this building didn’t really transform into an Autobot like I hoped. When walking around the East Village with Melissa, I noticed the strangeness of the building and had to capture it. Photographed with the Canon S90 (on RAW of course) – Quick processing and toning in Lightroom. Thanks for reading and happy shooting, Scott

The Ends With A Photography Tip

the-ends

A wise photographer once said, “The best camera is the one you have with you”. Chase Jarvis was right. There are times when we just don’t feel like lugging around a big SLR. During a recent trip to New York City with Melissa (to pick up my wedding right), I brought my Canon S90 which [...]

If it looks flat 19/52

if-it-looks-flat

If it looks flat and smells flat, is it really flat? Nope, the famous Flatiron Building in New York City is actually a triangle. Not so flat now is it! Actually, the building was originally called the Fuller Building. Thanks for reading and happy shooting, Scott

Missing Pieces 4/52

Canon S90, ISO 80, f/2, 1/60, Flash, 6mm

This has been an interesting week for my fiance and I. We listed our condo for sale and hired someone to come fix up a bunch of things around the place before I photograph and allow people to come see it. What you’re looking at here is what was left from removing DVD cases from [...]

Rule of engagement 324/365

Canon S90, Macro, ISO 80, f/2, 1/60

When someone gives you a bag full of old cameras, do not turn them away.  Accept the package and look through it later to see what belongs in your collection and what does not.  End of story

Welcome to Pivot Point 323/365

Canon S90, f/3.5, ISO 80, 1/60

Plugin tip: You don’t always have to use a preset for what it is intended for.  For this interior photo I used Topaz Labs Adjust and the Portrait Drama preset.

Present ala Foreshadow 322/365

Canon S90, ISO 1000, f/2, 1/60

My future sister-in-law and her boyfriend went to Mexico quite recently.  While they were there they found this statue of a bride and groom.  Since Melissa and I are getting married in Mexico they thought it would be a nice engagement present.  It was!  Better photos of the statue to come.

Canon S90, ISO 80, f/2.2, 1/60

This weekend I am determined to pick up my SLR and get some nice brackets.  Right now I’m busy with the new job and schoolwork.
