Spider Holster review and how to use it with the Really Right Stuff system

The Spider Holster is an amazing product. Photographer Shai Eynav‘s beautiful design turned into something powerful. The Spider Holster is a heavy duty metal clip that can be attached to the Spider Belt or threaded onto your existing belt. The Spider Plate has multiple pin locations which determine how the camera sits when holstered. The plate also enables the use of a tripod mount so you don’t have to remove the plate for tripod use. The Spider Plate has an integrated holding spot for the Allen wrench needed for tightening the plate and pins.

When I received the system from Shai he asked me to try the system with my Really Right Stuff tripod head. Unfortunately the Really Right Stuff system is all customized which makes the plates sit incorrectly on the Spider Plate. I decided to do a little research knowing that Really Right Stuff uses the Arca Swiss style mounts. I checked eBay and found the solution. Seller Hejnar Photo on eBay has generic Arca Swiss style tripod mounts that fit perfectly on the Spider Plate. Aside from the plate being generic you would never know it’s not Really Right Stuff. For $30 it is well worth the price to enable my Spider system to still be mounted on a tripod!

Overall the Spider Holster is very comfortable. I went hours using the belt, without any shoulder or back pain. This is a product I intend on using all of the time and on all of my photowalks from here on out!

If this is something you’d be interested in then head on over to The Spider Holster‘s website and purchase it at an introductory discounted price while you can!
