Retro Camera for Android

Retro Camera Logo

Retro Camera Logo iPhone users know that there are many great camera applications to use on their phones. Android users know that there are not. However, Urbain has created an application called Retro Camera. You have seen my use of the application on my phone photo blog and my Project 365.  The application is still on the slow side but with the past few updates it has gained some major speed.

In the beginning I would have to wait about 3 minutes for a photo to “process”. Now, I can keep on shooting and the photos will process in the background. I can do something else and the application will let know me when the photos are done and in the gallery.

With that said, the application is a fun way to display your photographs from your Android phones. Below are samples of the current camera styles available in Retro Camera.

With Retro Camera you’ll take delicious old-school pics your friends will drool over. 3 cameras, 3 sets of vintage vignetting, film scratch & cross processing effects for that off-the-hip analog look. Inspired by the old Lomo, Holga, Polaroid, Diana & toy cameras whose iconic styles we treasure. Instant Nostalgia now free.

So for you Android users out there reading this, I recommend you download the free version of Retro Camera now, and if you want an Ad-Free version with a fun bubble level (and I would assume eventually more features) the Plus version is only $2.99.

I make NO commission off of this. I just wanted to share the only good camera application for Android.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,
Scott

    1. I'm tried both Vignette and Camera 360 or whatever it's called but I found that only Retro Camera gives me effects that are fun and appealing. I do wish there was some sort of processing control but what can ya do.

  1. I love this app! I think it's my favorite app on my phone.

They've added a fifth camera now, that has given me some really good results. I only wish the camera was higher resolution, but I think that's a phone issue, not the program itself.
