Photographing with Sun Glare

Sun Glare is a funny thing.  It can make or ruin a photo.  Here is an example of just that.  I photographed Melissa and Sami while in Washington DC.  The first shot had too much glare on Melissa’s face so I we changed angles and it made a really nice photo of the two of them.  It may not be what I was going for originally but it works. But in the photo above the sun glare really works well when the exposure is underexposed creating a dark gloomy image.  What about the photo way down below.  What do you think of the sun glare in that photo?  Like it? Hate it?  Share your comments on that sun glare or sun glare in general.

Thanks for reading and happy shooting,

Scott

  1. It can be very flattering. I love the glare on the initial shot except that it is straight across Melissa's face. If the glare was slightly to the left the shot would be a keeper.
