New Jersey Photographer

My name is Scott Wyden Kivowitz and I am a New Jersey Photographer. My focus is on landscape, portrait and commercial photography. My goal as a photographer is to produce creative and professional results every time.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions you might have.

The inspiration for my work reaches from so many places. However, my style of photography is often compared to that of Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander and Ansel Adams.

My creative approach combined with a passion for photography and a personal touch that I feel client’s deserve, makes the experience enjoyable for everyone.

Look closer at the simple things in life. Admire the shapes, colors and patterns. There is beauty. Photograph it.

One thing that keeps my heart pumping for photography is the feeling I get when I see something worth capturing. It might be something simple. It might be something so amazing that I would hate myself for not taking the picture. A good exercise for inspiration and learning is to go for a walk around town with just a camera. You never now what you might see worth photographing. Life’s “Aha moments” are usually when you least expect them. What do you notice when walking around town? Do you see the little details, funny signs or strange-looking people? It’s amazing when you see something and you get that feeling in your heart, to photograph it. It’s about those moments that I like to call that the “Laundromat Lights feeling”.

It’s often said the proof is in the pudding. In photography, the photographs can really tell a person if the photographer is the right choice or not. However, it is always nice to hear and share feedback from clients and colleagues. Read the testimonials.

“Scott’s photography uses techniques that few others can execute. Colors pop and he captures the essence of the subject matter whether he’s shooting a family or business executive.”

If you read Absorbing Light, then you know that before photography, I was focusing on music as my career. Music has always been a huge part of my life. So whether out on a photowalk or photographing for a client, I prefer listening to the follow music: Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Bruno Mars, Johnny Cash, The Decemberists, The Postal Service, Portugal the Man, Five For Fighting, The Beatles.

You will also find me writing about many photography topics on other websites because I am also the Community & Blog Wrangler at Photocrati Media; developer of NextGEN Gallery & Photographers SEO.
