Imgry.net more than a Lessn. Now a Bit.ly Pro

Bit.ly recently announced their new Bit.ly Pro service which enables basic Bit.ly functions and tracking using your own URL. Companies like FourSquare and Amazon are using Bit.ly for their URLs. My Imgry.net has been a self hosted shortener using Lessn as I explained in this post.

Now I have switched it to Bit.ly Pro which means if you add a + after the URL you have the ability to see the stats and the destination before visiting the link.

In addition to the above, switching also gave me the following:

  • Less strain on my host
  • Reliable shortener company
  • 3rd party support ie. mobile app

and the list will keep growing!

If you are on my website and catch any old imgry.net links that do not work please get in touch with me. I’d appreciate it very much. I’m trying to switch them all to the new system.
