A Photographers Review of the Scottevest Travel Vest

While on my hunt for the good photo vest that doesn’t look like your typical photo vest I came across a pretty awesome looking product. The Scottevest is the brain child of Scott Jordan. The vest is very fashionable and while not specifically designed for photographers I was able to fit a lot of photo stuff in the 20+ hidden pockets. This includes the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 les in an inside pocket and you couldn’t even tell it was there.

I was able to shoot during a photowalk carrying only the Spider Holster and the Travel Vest which enabled me to have absolutely no shoulder, back or neck pain whatsoever. The vest will be with me a lot now during photowalks.

The vest is impressive. There are so many pockets inside and out and each one has something unique compared to the next. One inside pocket has a bungee cord with a clip at the end holding a lens cloth. How perfect! Another pocket has a clip and cord to hold keys. There are iPod pockets, ear bud holders, hand warmer pockets, a water bottle pocket and the list goes on and on.

When I first received the vest I put my hand inside of the pockets to find that each pocket contained a little business card which showed examples of what the pocket could be used for. Scott Jordan spent a lot of time and effort into making an amazing product. If you like to follow inspirational people like Gary Vaynerchuk then you will want to follow Scott Jordan as he asks his customers and readers how to improve his product and company. It doesn’t get any better than that.

To close, although not specifically designed for photographer this vest is amazing, impressive and looks great! I suggest giving it a go.

Nice informative review. That the vest can hold a 14-24 comfortably speaks volumes. Could it hold, say, another fairly large lens, and 1-2 smaller ones?
