Speedliner

Speedliner

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Speedliner was in action during the 1950s and early 1960s. What I love about this train is how the leading line trim on the sides makes the train look in motion. This train in particular once traveled from Baltimore to Pittsburg. Thanks for reading and happy shooting, Scott

Paint The White House

paint-the-white-house

Thanks to George Clinton, whenever I hear or see The White House, I think of painting it black. Thanks P-Funk! Photographing The White House is no longer a simple task.  When you approach the fence, you’re surrounded by tourists, police and you’re now a target by the snipers hiding on the roof. In order to [...]

Using The Surroundings

against-tree

When you are photographing portraits on location, do not be afraid to use the surroundings.  For this photograph, I asked the subject to stand comfortably against a tree, which was curved perfectly to blend with the human body. Being that the model was very experienced, he jumped right in and the shot came out great. [...]

Behind Door Number One

door-number-one

I photograph foreclosed homes for a company that flips houses.  Many times the rooms are so boring that the photos do not warrant sharing.  However on the other hand – there are sometimes photos worth processing in my own style. In this photo, for example, I wanted to accept the glow coming from behind the [...]

Help Speeding Up WordPress For Photographers

plugin-runtime

I’m an advocate of using as minimal plugins on WordPress websites. I try to build features I want into a WordPress theme.  Lately there has been chatter in the WordPress world where people are saying to use plugins. Here is my take on it. If you do not understand how to build functions into your [...]

Carton on Tap

carton-on-tap

A few months back I spent some time with New Jersey Craft Beer at Carton Brewing in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. During the time, I walked around the brewery photographing everything that I could.  One of my favorite things at the brewery, also happened to be one of the simplest things. The upstairs bar is [...]

Inside The Asbury Park Casino

Yesterday I shared a photo of the famous Asbury Park Casino sign.  I also mentioned that today I would be sharing a photo from the other side of the building, which was built in the 1920s. So here it is… Now that you’ve seen both sides of the building, which is your favorite? Thanks for [...]
